Delphi became the spiritual and religious center
of the ancient Greek world. It was dedicated to Apollo, the god of
light,of harmony, of order and of reason, the god of music and song
and divination.
People went to the oracle of Apollo to consult the
god, who spoke through the mouth of Pythia. Wealth was accumulated
and the fame of the oracle spread in the east and west.
Today you can walk along the sacred way to the temple
of Apollo, to the theatre and the stadium higher up and admire the
unique beauty of this place.
Then walk to the museum of Delphi to see statues,
reliefs and other objects that were found during the excavations of
the site. And most of all admire one of the most beautiful bronze
statues, that antiquity has given us, the Charioteer.
Visit the sanctuary of Athena Pronaia where the
famous Tholos stands. Enjoy the mountain landscape especially from
the village of Arahova that we visit on the way to Delphi.
