Visit Eleusis, one of the most important cult centers in the ancient world, 21 kms Northeast of Athens.

The ancient city of Eleusis was the birthplace of the tragic poet Aeschylus and home of the sanctuary of Demeter and Kore and of the Eleusinian Mysteries.

Explore this site, where the excavations revealed among other things the Telesterion, that is, the Hall of Mysteries, a building dedicated to the secret rites in honor of Demeter, in which only the initiated could participate

The exhibits in the museum will add to your knowledge of this religious center, which attracted worshippers from all over Greece.
