Visit Kerameikos, the Ancient Cemetery of Athens,
where some of the most precious works of art have been found.
Enjoy the tranquillity of this site, walking along
the Street of the Tombs, see the grave stelai beautifully decorated
in relief and read the epigrams that reveal the feelings of the people
who buried their beloved persons there.
See also the remains of the ancient city wall and
the two gates of Athens, the Dipilon and the Sacred gate.
In the museum you can see important grave stelai,
terracotta figurines, an extensive collection of vases mainly from
the 11th to 7th Century BC and white lekythoi with funerary scenes.
